So far, so good. My 2007 Impala had a check engine light and getting an OBD 2 error code “P0449”. Installing this part seems to have fixed the problem. Be aware that if ordering this part, you may need a jumper harness (adapter). The connector on this solenoid was different than the original one installed when I first got the car in 2007. Therefore, I couldn’t connect it directly to the existing wire connector.I ordered the jumper harness recommended by Amazon, part no. 19257603, and it worked fine. It connects to the existing wire on one end, and to new solenoid on the other end. I started the car up, cleared the OBD 2 fault code, and haven’t seen the check engine light after several starts and about 15 minutes or so of idling.I’m confident that it resolved the problem even though it has not been that long since the installation for the following reason: A few days ago, I replaced the gas cap hoping it would fix the issue. The gas cap was 10 years old and pretty worn out. The gasket was pretty much disintegrated. I cleared the code, restarted my car several times and idled for about 10 minutes before the light came back on. Since having installed the replacement solenoid, the light hasn’t come back after about the same idling period, so I doubt it will come back on. But I’ll update my review if it does. Also, the installation was very easy. Even easier if you don’t have the faux dual exhaust which puts a muffler in your way, and you don’t have a rusted bolt holding the solenoid bracket. No jacking of the car needed. Eye protection recommended.
