I bought these for my 2009 XL single cab long bed. they look really nice and the light out put is great, it was a pain to install them but that isn’t the fault of the lights. they snapped into the factory openings on the mirror pretty easily and they sit in there nice and tight. since my truck doesn’t have any electronic features in the mirrors there was nothing for me to tap into so I had to run the wire from my running light relay that I installed for my clearance lights, and I ran the wire through the door gator and through the panel up to the mirror, and I had to drill holes from inside the mirror through the back of the housing and into the arm. and I had to cut openings into the arm behind the mirror so it could pivot without cutting the wire in half, not a super pretty job but it’s not visible unless you fold the mirrors in so it’s no big deal. I wanted these to be running lights and blinkers but I ran out of time and I have to put some sort of circuit together to make that work since the blinker relays are actuated by resistive load meaning I can’t tap into them without changing the blinker speed, and I can’t just use the trailer blinker relays in conjunction with the running lights without something to kick off the power from the running lights while the blinker is on. so for now they are just running lights. for anybody who is curious on an easy way to have blinkers and running lights on the mirrors. I did see a video where a guy just bought an amber snap on cover and put 2 LED light strips behind them, he wired one of them up to the running lights and a second one up to the turn signals. so he had running lights and then when the turn signals came on they just got brighter and dimmer as they blinked. that’s what I should have done. whatever, all and all I like these lights.
