While meant for automobile use, these did not go on an automobile or boat but on a project using 12 volt and timers. The lights install easily with the proper size hole and wiring is easy. They were too bright for my purpose so I used various resistors to dim them down. I have found no negative effects as of yet. They are exactly what I was needing and could find no where locally.
